HyperOS 3.0 EU Port for Poco X7 Pro — Android 16 Tour
Part of Xiaomi guides, HyperOS guides, 2025 guides.
HyperOS 3.0 EU ported from the Xiaomi 15T Pro is running on my Poco X7 Pro, sitting on top of the HyperOS 3.0.4.0 EU base with Android 16 underneath. It is smooth for daily use, the setup runs in English with a real Google restore, and there is one rule: leave full always-on display off.
The video starts muted so it does not blast at you — tap the speaker to hear it, or open it on YouTube.
I have been running this on the Poco X7 Pro for a while now, so this is what it is actually like rather than what the changelog promises.
Short version: it is built for daily driving and battery life, and it shows. The setup feels surprisingly clean, and gaming held up while I tested it. There is one thing that will bite you, and I will get to it before you install anything.
What you get
A port from the Xiaomi 15T Pro, based on HyperOS 3.0.4.0 EU, with Android 16 under it. The package is around 7.4 GB, so make room before you start.
The install offers root options, and KernelSU is available if you want it. You do not have to take root — a clean install with no root is there too.
What the setup is like
This surprised me. For the first minute it honestly feels like configuring a fresh iPhone. The steps are clear, it is in English immediately instead of dropping you into Chinese, and there is a real Google restore option once you log in.
That Google restore matters. You sign in, it offers to bring your apps back, you pick what you want, skip what you do not, and you are done. On a lot of ports that step is missing or broken, so this is worth noting.
During setup you also get:
- Fingerprint and face unlock both offered.
- A pile of new wallpapers pulled from newer Xiaomi devices.
- The ad and privacy toggles, including printer control for shared devices.
- Unlimited Photos switched on.
What changed in the port
- Port from the Mi 15T Pro, based on HyperOS 3.0.4.0 EU.
- Unlimited Photos added.
- Tweaks, plus a lot of wallpapers from new devices.
- A bundled Tecno camera app, which you can delete if you do not want it.
- Clean install required, with root options offered during the install.
What is broken
One thing, and it is important.
Do not use full always-on display. If you leave full AOD on, the phone can hang on the logo. That is the known issue with this build and it is not something you can shrug at, because a phone stuck at the logo is not a phone.
Set AOD off, or use the limited mode, and this does not happen. Everything else has been fine in my testing.
Who should install it
You should consider this if you want HyperOS 3 on a Poco X7 Pro and you are comfortable doing a clean install — meaning your data goes and you restore afterwards. The Google restore makes that easier than it used to be, but it is still a clean flash.
You should not install it if you rely on always-on display and will not give it up, or if you are not comfortable with a port. Ports come from another device and they carry that risk with them.
What you need before you start
- An unlocked bootloader on the Poco X7 Pro.
- The ROM package downloaded — it is linked in the downloads section, and it is large.
- Platform tools plus the ADB and fastboot driver, so your PC sees the phone.
- The flashing guide from the downloads section, followed properly.
- A backup, because this is a clean install.
That is not optional advice. A clean install means your internal storage is wiped. Get your photos and your two-factor authenticator codes off the phone first.
Where people get stuck
- Leaving full AOD on. The phone hangs at the logo. Turn it off as one of the first things you do after setup.
- Not making room for the package. It is around 7.4 GB, and a download that dies halfway is a wasted evening.
- A dirty flash. This wants a clean install. Flashing over an existing system produces problems nobody wants to debug.
- Driver trouble on the PC. If the phone is not seen in fastboot, that is the ADB and fastboot driver, not the ROM.
One honest paragraph
Ports are always a trade. You get newer software than your phone would otherwise see, and in exchange you accept that someone moved it across from a different device and one or two things may not be perfect.
This one is a good trade. The setup is the cleanest I have seen on a port, the day to day is smooth, and the battery holds up. The AOD rule is the price of entry, and it is a price I am happy to pay.
If you are on the fence, read the flashing guide first and decide after. If that guide feels like too much, this is not the build to learn on.
The free Rom Flasher tool on GitHub handles the ADB and fastboot driver install for you, which removes the step where most people get stuck. It is free, and it is in the downloads section.

Full description from the video
HyperOS 3.0 EU is now living on my Poco X7 Pro, ported across from the Xiaomi 15T Pro, and it sits on top of HyperOS 3.0.4.0 EU with Android 16 underneath. This is the version everyone kept asking about, so here's the install and a proper look at it.
The setup surprised me. It honestly feels like configuring a fresh iPhone for a minute — clear steps, English straight away instead of Chinese, and a real Google restore option once you log in. Restore your apps, skip what you don't need, and you're done.

🔬 What I Looked At
- The setup flow — no Chinese at all, and the Google data restore shows up after login.
- Fingerprint and face unlock both offered during setup.
- A pile of new wallpapers pulled from newer Xiaomi devices.
- The bundled Tecno camera app, which you can delete if you don't want it.
- Unlimited Photos switched on.
- The ad and privacy toggles at setup, including printer control for shared devices.
📊 Verdict
It was built for daily driving and battery life, and it shows — smooth through a normal day, and gaming held up fine while I tested. The only hard rule is the AOD: leave full always-on display off, or the phone can hang on the logo. Everything else here feels like a polished port with a familiar setup, which is exactly what people wanted from HyperOS 3.

Common questions
Is the HyperOS 3.0 EU port stable enough for daily use on the Poco X7 Pro?
Yes, with one rule. It is smooth through a normal day and battery life holds up. You must leave full always-on display off, because that setting can make the phone hang on the logo.
Does installing this port wipe my data?
Yes, it needs a clean install, so everything on internal storage goes. Use the Google restore offered during setup to bring your apps back, and move your photos and authenticator codes off the phone first.
What Android version is this HyperOS 3.0 EU port based on?
Android 16, on top of the HyperOS 3.0.4.0 EU base, ported from the Xiaomi 15T Pro. The package is around 7.4 GB, so make sure you have the space before downloading.
Why does my phone hang on the logo after installing this ROM?
Full always-on display is almost certainly on. This build has a known issue where full AOD makes the phone stick at the logo. Turn AOD off, or use the limited mode, and it boots normally.
Can I root the HyperOS 3.0 EU port?
Yes, the installer offers root options and KernelSU is available. You can also choose a clean install with no root at all, which is what I would suggest first so you know the base is behaving.
Before you flash
- Back up everything you would miss — unlocking and flashing usually wipe the phone.
- Check the file is built for your exact model and region.
- Keep a PC and a working cable around so a bootloop can be recovered.
