HyperOS 3 Port on Xiaomi Pad 5 Based on HyperOS 2 MOD
Part of Xiaomi guides, HyperOS guides, 2025 guides.
HyperOS 3 on the Xiaomi Pad 5 is a community port sitting on a HyperOS 2 base, and the changelog is the interesting part. It brings the Materials 3.0 look, a new status bar and icon style, and a stack of small fixes — including a working speaker-cleaning tool and Bluetooth audio that no longer drifts.
The video starts muted so it does not blast at you — tap the speaker to hear it, or open it on YouTube.
This is a port, not an official drop, and it is worth saying that plainly before anything else. Someone took HyperOS 3 and made it run on a tablet that was never meant to receive it, on top of a HyperOS 2 base. The result is interesting exactly because of how much detail went into it — this is not a wallpaper change with a new version number on the settings screen.
Whoever put it together went through the system feature by feature. Some of it is genuinely useful. Some of it is the kind of tweak you only notice once it is gone.
What this build changes
- Streamlined system applications, so the app drawer is not carrying dead weight
- High-level Materials 3.0 enabled, which is where the new visual language lives
- Flat panel area enabled
- Bluetooth audio desync fixed — the drift between sound and picture is gone
- Theme AI wallpaper option unlocked
- Speaker cleaning unlocked
- Memory expansion off by default
- Xiaomi Share with no time limit
- Workbench mode unlocked above 8 GB of RAM
- HyperOS 3 status bar and desktop icon style, plus the K Pad wallpaper
- Software installer purity unlimited
- New Xiaomi camera with normal functionality
- Mi AI Translate with real-time captioning
- PC WPS Office kept in
- Keyboard magnet control switch added
- MSA and AnalyticsCore removed
- An attempt to fix animation slowdowns caused by the boot-lock 60 Hz refresh rate
The parts that actually matter
The Bluetooth audio fix. If you have ever watched a video with the sound arriving a beat behind the picture, you know why this is the headline. That desync is one of those things people assume is their headphones. It was not.
MSA and AnalyticsCore removed. Both were on the removal list. Fewer background services reporting home is a change you feel in battery life and in how much the system does when you are not looking at it.
Memory expansion off by default. Turning this off gives you back real RAM behaviour instead of software pretending to have more.
The camera. A new Xiaomi camera with normal functionality, rather than the old one limping along on unfamiliar hardware. On a port, getting the camera to behave is one of the harder wins.
Workbench mode above 8 GB of RAM. If you have the higher-memory Pad 5, this is unlocked. On the lower one it stays out of reach, which is honest rather than hidden.
What to check after flashing
- The 60 Hz animation note. There is an attempt to fix animation slowdowns tied to the boot-lock refresh rate. It is an attempt, not a guarantee. Watch the transitions on your own tablet and decide for yourself.
- Bluetooth audio. Test pairing with whatever you actually use — it is the fix most people are here for.
- The camera. Take a handful of photos in different lighting before you rely on it.
- Xiaomi Share. No time limit now, which is worth confirming with a second device if you use it.
Who should install it
Install it if you want the newest HyperOS feel on a Pad 5 and you accept that a port is a port — unofficial, community-maintained, and not something to expect official support for. Skip it if you need the tablet to be boring and reliable this week.
Before you start
- Back up the tablet. Nothing on internal storage survives.
- Install the driver. If the PC cannot see the tablet, nothing else matters. The free Rom Flasher tool makes the driver install a couple of clicks.
- Platform Tools ready for the fastboot steps.
- Set aside time for the first boot. It always takes longer than you would like, and a port is slower still.
The recovery and vbmeta pieces from the downloads are worth having ready before you begin, so you are not downloading mid-flash.
Ports are the least forgiving kind of flash. Do the basics properly and your odds go up considerably.

Common questions
Is HyperOS 3 for the Xiaomi Pad 5 an official update?
No. It is a community port built on a HyperOS 2 base, not an official Xiaomi release. Treat it like any other unofficial build and do not expect official support.
Does this HyperOS 3 port fix Bluetooth audio desync?
Yes, fixing Bluetooth audio desync is on the changelog. It is one of the more noticeable improvements if you watch video with wireless headphones.
What does removing MSA and AnalyticsCore do?
It takes out two background services that report usage. Fewer of those running means less activity when you are not using the tablet. It is listed in the changelog for this build.
Will this wipe my tablet?
Yes. You are coming from another system, so a clean flash means internal storage is reset. Back up your files before you start.
Can I go back to stock HyperOS?
Yes. A stock fastboot package for the Pad 5 flashes over the port. Expect another wipe when you switch back, and the bootloader needs to be unlocked throughout.
Before you flash
- Back up everything you would miss — unlocking and flashing usually wipe the phone.
- Check the file is built for your exact model and region.
- Keep a PC and a working cable around so a bootloop can be recovered.
