Infinity X is a custom ROM with a very deep customisation menu, and it runs on the Xiaomi Pad 5. You flash it the same way you flash a phone: driver, fastboot, recovery, format data, then the ROM. Here is the download and the clean order to do it in.

The video starts muted so it does not blast at you — tap the speaker to hear it, or open it on YouTube.

No PC in the room? The free Rom Flasher tool runs the whole flash from the phone in your hand — USB-OTG cable, no laptop, no command line.

Infinity X is the ROM people reach for when they want options. Not "a couple of toggles" options — the kind where there is a customisation menu that goes several layers deep, status bar tweaks, gesture controls, and about forty things you did not know you wanted.

On a tablet it is a strange and fun combination, because the screen is big enough to actually see what you changed. Expect to lose your first evening poking around in settings instead of using the tablet.

What you need first

That last bullet is not filler. Flashing a tablet with 15 percent battery is how you turn a twenty-minute job into a lost evening.

Step 1 — unlock the bootloader

If it is already unlocked, skip ahead. If not, this is the point of no return and it erases everything on the tablet. Do your backup first, then unlock, then come back here.

Step 2 — install the driver and check fastboot sees the tablet

Install the ADB and Fastboot driver on the PC. Put the tablet into fastboot and run:

fastboot devices

You need a serial number back. If you get nothing, the driver is the problem, and no amount of retrying will fix it later. Sort it out now.

Step 3 — flash the recovery and vbmeta

Flash the recovery built for this tablet, then the vbmeta file the build asks for. vbmeta is the piece that tells the tablet to accept what you are about to write. Skip it and you can end up in a bootloop that looks like a bad ROM when it is really a missing file.

This is also where people grab the wrong download. Use a recovery made for the Xiaomi Pad 5. A recovery from another device will either refuse to boot or fail at the worst possible moment.

Step 4 — format data, then flash the ROM

Format data in recovery first. This is the step that keeps a clean install clean — old data sitting under a new ROM is a reliable recipe for a bootloop.

Then flash the Infinity X package and let it finish. Do not unplug. Do not touch the tablet while the bar is moving.

Step 5 — reboot and wait

Reboot to system. A first boot on a tablet with a fresh custom ROM can take a few minutes longer than you expect. Sit with it.

Where people get stuck

One honest paragraph

Infinity X is a lot of ROM, and "a lot" cuts both ways. The customisation is deep and genuinely fun on a big screen. It is also more moving parts than a lean build, and every extra feature is one more thing that can behave oddly on a tablet it was not specifically written for. Set it up, use it for a week, and if you find yourself not touching that customisation menu, you have your answer about whether it is the ROM for you.

If the driver and platform tools side of this is the part you dread, the free Rom Flasher tool on GitHub bundles the ADB and fastboot driver install into a couple of clicks so you are not fighting Device Manager. The link is in the downloads section.

Do not flash on an empty tank. Charge first, back up first, then start.

Full description from the video

Infinity X is running on the Xiaomi Pad 5 — a custom ROM with a mountain of tweaks, and this is the download plus the clean way to flash it.

Infinity X has always been the ROM people reach for when they want options, and on a big screen like the Pad 5 it's an interesting fit. There's a customisation menu that goes several layers deep, status bar tweaks, gesture controls, the lot — so expect to spend your first evening poking around instead of actually using the tablet. That's part of the fun.

Flashing a tablet is the same idea as a phone: driver, fastboot, recovery, flash, reboot. Do a backup first and keep the cable connected.

📱 Device : Xiaomi Pad 5

🧩 ROM : Infinity X (Custom ROM)

📟 Type : Tablet

🧰 What You Need First

  • The Infinity X ROM package for the Xiaomi Pad 5
  • ADB and Fastboot driver on your PC
  • Platform Tools, ready to go
  • A compatible recovery, plus vbmeta if the build asks for it
  • A full backup and a charged battery

📝 Flashing Order

  1. Unlock the bootloader if it isn't done already.
  2. Install the driver and check that fastboot sees the tablet.
  3. Flash the recovery and the required vbmeta file.
  4. Format data, then flash the Infinity X ROM.
  5. Reboot to system and wait — a first boot on a tablet can take a few minutes.

⚠️ Common Slip-Ups

  • Using a phone recovery on a tablet.
  • Forgetting the data format, then blaming the ROM.
  • Unplugging the cable before the flash finishes.

Common questions

Does flashing Infinity X on the Xiaomi Pad 5 wipe my data?

Yes. This method formats data as part of the install, and unlocking the bootloader also erases the tablet if you have not done it yet. Back everything up before you start.

Can I use a phone recovery to flash Infinity X on the Pad 5?

No. You need a recovery built for the Xiaomi Pad 5. A phone recovery will either fail to boot or fail during the flash, and that is one of the most common ways people get stuck.

Why do I need the vbmeta file?

vbmeta is the partition that tells the tablet to accept the modified images you are writing. If the build asks for it and you skip it, you can end up stuck in a bootloop that looks like a bad ROM but is really a missing step.

The tablet is stuck on the boot animation after flashing. What went wrong?

In most cases data was not formatted before the flash. Reboot to recovery, format data, and flash the ROM again. Old data under a new ROM is the usual cause of a first-boot bootloop.

Does Infinity X work well on a tablet?

It works, and the deep customisation is fun on a big screen. Keep in mind it is a custom ROM that was not tuned specifically for the Pad 5, so expect the occasional rough edge here and there.
